TOUS awarded the Garantía.Madrid mark in recognition for its fight against COVID-19

The mark certifies the commitment of retailers, businesses, industries, freelancers and third-sector bodies in Madrid to the prevention and minimization of the risks caused by COVID-19.

TOUS has earned the Garantía.Madrid mark that is awarded by the Autonomous Community of Madrid through the Madrid Foundation for Competitiveness. The award certifies the commitment of retailers, businesses, industries, freelancers and third-sector bodies in Madrid to the prevention and minimization of the risks caused by COVIID-19.

The counselor for the Economy, Employment and Competitiveness, Manuel Giménez Rasero, and the Director General of Trade and Consumption, Marta Nieto Novo, were able to see first-hand all of the measures and procedures adopted by TOUS during a visit to our store in Las Rozas Village.

During this encounter, TOUS was also given the award in its three categories: measures of compliance, extraordinary measures and charity work. The mark in recognition for these efforts will be displayed in stores to inform customers and employees. A QR code has a direct link to the Garantía.Madrid website on which the measures adopted by each business are posted.

“Extraordinary measures” recognizes conduct that goes beyond the guidelines issued by the competent authorities to combat COVID-19. To this regard, TOUS set up a Customer Care Ritual, which is being implemented in all of our stores and was drawn up by the Health and Safety Committee, a team that we set up to come up with a response to the specific challenges in this new context. The aim of this update in conduct at points of sale is to protect what is most important to us: the health of our employees and customers without relinquishing our approachability.

The “Charity Work” mark rewards all those businesses that have contributed to the fight against the pandemic, such as TOUS, which given the lack of supplies in hospitals made its production capacity and logistics available to the healthcare system. In addition, we have joined in a number of initiatives, such as the production of components for oxygen feed tubes in ICUs using our 3D printers and the donation of acrylic sheeting for making protective stretcher boxes.
